No band can achieve greatness without a primo supporting cast behind the scenes. One crucial role is that of the roadie. Liver Damage is lucky that their is a seasoned veteran who, while not so helpful with gear at times, is always Johnny-on-the-Spot with beers.

"I did some work with Ratt and Styx back in the 80s. Sure I was only 3 years old, but I was such a Herculean figure at that age, I could toss amps around like pillows," Gray says. "With LD, it's different. Sure, I move an amp or two, but these guys rely on me to monitor the beer levels on stage and be there when it counts. One time, a venue ran out of beers, and I saw the boys were running low. So I went straight to the toilet and made a batch of hooch, like they taught me in prison. I wasn't about to let down the band... or their fans."

Gray is modest, saying he doesn't "tax" groupies trying to meet the band backstage. However, he's says he's not just brawn. He enjoys math, ninja movies, and ballet.

New Dates Set! Hide Your Children

LD will be playing three shows in June at the College Perk in College Park, MD. June 9th and 23rd, they'll be playing solo sets at 8:13pm. On June 10th, the band will be on the docket along with several other bands in Perkapalooza.

Asked about the venue, band manager Lou "Ape Tits" McGonagle said, "Oh, man. The Perk. You've got the Royal Albert Hall, Budokan, and College Perk. One of the greats, boys. One of the greats."

LD fan RonJulio Pickens expressed his excitement, "Oh man! Oh, dude! Oh, I think I need to change my shorts. I am so gonna be there."

Meawhile the band is busy creating new arrangements of their classics and churning out new songs. When asked about a rumor that they might go electric, guitarist Brad Brown said, "Man, Ben Franklin invented electricity for two reasons: to bring light to the night time and to rock so hard, Napoleon and the Brits would flee back across the Atlantic during the Civil War."

So mark your calandars and be there, or the band will hunt you down and sell your organs on the black market.

Next on the docket for LD is a recording session. "The boys' goal," says band manager Lou "Ape Tits" McGonagle, "is to really manufacture a sound that will kick the butt cheeks off every ass that's brave enough to listen." We'll keep you updated.

Neighbors Bewildered at Spontaneous Rock

Citizens of Silver Spring, MD took to the streets in awe as the sounds of Liver Damage emanated from a neighborhood basement. "We wanted to give something back to the people," noted singer Adam Comfort. "I mean, the Beatles played from the roof of Apple Records. We wanted to capture that spirit. 'Cept Brad's roof is peaked.... and... uhhh.... we didn't want to get arrested or beat up."

Though there have been widespread reports of women swooning and children crying, there have been no reported injuries.

Update: Brown Practices With Ailing Finger

Brad Brown says his infected finger is improving. According to singer/visionary Adam Comfort, "Brad looked pretty good today. He was gimping around some chord changes, but he still rocked harder than [original REO Speedwagon lead guitarist] Gary Richrath." Brown noted, "the ointment's working well right now. If it comes to it, I'll just go Rambo and cauterize the bitch with my survival knife. I mean, yeah, I won't be able to feel it. But hey, Ronnie Lott had his finger amputated to play in the Superbowl."

Health of Guitarist's "Bending Finger" Puts Gig in Doubt

Guitarist Brad Brown announced yesterday that he is suffering from a painful hangnail. He noted that the hangnail is on his main bending finger, and may prevent him from "tearing sh-t up" during his solos. However, Brown is optimistic. "I talked to [band athletic trainer] Mike Dantoni yesterday. He said with a little application of antibiotic cream and some lighter practice, I should be good to go April 13th. Right now, I'm just taking it a day at a time." Should Brown be unable to perform, "Liver Damage" would need to recall triple-A guitarist Louis "Night Ranger" Jackson from Hyattsville-based "Hepatitis."
